The incident occurred during the cast's final salute and the artist was caught holding the unfurled flag despite backstage attempts to take it away. The opera company said the action was unauthorized and wholly inappropriate, but did not provide details about possible disciplinary action against the artist. 'Il Trovatore' is a famous opera by Giuseppe Verdi, directed by Adele Thomas.
