The Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that the 800 billion dollars requested by Ukraine from the European Union over the next ten years could mean a "redemption" of over nine billion dollars for Hungary. In a Facebook post, Orban emphasized that this money is not easy to obtain and mentioned that Brussels has imposed drastic measures on Hungary, such as the elimination of pensions for the 13th and 14th months, housing subsidies, and capping utility prices.

He also emphasized that the expectations of the European Union were presented within the European semester and that the final decision will be made on April 12. Orban stated that Hungary will refuse "Brussels' war plans."
