OpenAI, known for ChatGPT, is in preliminary talks for a stock sale that could value the company at $500 billion, a significant increase from its current valuation of $300 billion. The deal would allow employees to sell shares ahead of a possible public listing. The company's revenue more than doubled in the first seven months of 2025 to an annualized $12 billion, with estimates of $20 billion by year-end. OpenAI is also considering a corporate restructuring to prepare for the IPO.
