O.J. Simpson's estate has agreed to pay nearly 58 million dollars to Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, who was murdered along with Nicole Brown Simpson in 1994. Although Simpson was acquitted of murder charges, Goldman obtained a civil liability verdict in 1997, but payment was blocked by laws protecting Simpson's pension. Recently, executor Malcolm LaVergne accepted a payment request of 57,997,858.12 dollars, plus accrued interest, after Goldman filed a new lawsuit. LaVergne stated that he will sell estate assets, including stolen items, to cover the debts. He also rejected most of the creditors' payment requests, prioritizing debts owed to the IRS. This agreement represents a significant change from LaVergne's initial position, which stated that he would not pay the Goldman family. Simpson died last year at the age of 76.
