North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the sea, according to the South Korean military.

The South Korean military announced on Friday that North Korea conducted a ballistic missile launch towards the sea, off the eastern coast. The Japanese government also confirmed that a possible ballistic missile was detected, which likely fell outside Japan's exclusive economic zone. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi stated that no damage has been reported as a result of this incident.

This launch comes after a series of short-range missile tests conducted by North Korea in the previous month, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
