On Monday, North Korea launched several ballistic missiles from the country's western region into the Yellow Sea. The launch came shortly after Pyongyang condemned the joint military drills by South Korea and the US, calling them a "dangerous provocative act". The annual Freedom Shield exercises by the allies are scheduled to run until March 20.
