North Korea has adopted an amendment to the Constitution that allows for a retaliatory nuclear strike in the event of the assassination of leader Kim Jong Un by foreign enemies.

This decision was influenced by the killing of the Iranian supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, following American-Israeli attacks. The amendment was presented during the first session of the 15th Supreme People's Assembly, which opened on March 22, and was made public by the South Korean National Intelligence Service. The revised Article 3 of the nuclear policy law stipulates that a nuclear strike must be launched automatically if the command system is threatened. However, it is estimated that an attack on Kim would be much more difficult due to the strict security in North Korea.

The North Korean regime is intensifying its hostility towards South Korea, deploying new types of artillery and considering Seoul its main enemy. Kim Jong Un recently inspected the production of ammunition for a new self-propelled howitzer, which will be deployed near the South Korean border.
