North Korea has announced the deployment of new long-range artillery systems capable of reaching the South Korean capital region, Seoul, and the inauguration of the first military destroyer in the country's history. The announcement came after South Korea observed that the new North Korean constitution eliminates references to the reunification of the Korean peninsula, reinforcing leader Kim Jong Un's strategy of total separation from Seoul. Kim recently inspected a weapons factory, emphasizing that the new self-propelled howitzers will bring a "major change" in the operational capability of the North Korean army. Additionally, North Korea will deploy new tactical missile systems at the border. In the context where Seoul is only 40-50 kilometers from the demilitarized zone, conventional artillery remains a major threat to South Korea. Furthermore, Kim Jong Un inspected the destroyer 'Choe Hyon', which will be delivered to the navy by mid-June. Relations between the two Koreas are at their lowest level, and the new doctrine of the North Korean regime defines South Korea as the "main enemy."
