The premiere of the film 'Odyssey' directed by Christopher Nolan has generated a significant increase in demand for travel to Greece, according to EasyJet Holidays data.

In the first week of August, bookings for Greece increased by 18% compared to the previous week, with Corfu seeing a 28% rise. Demand was also observed in other regions, with the Peloponnese, Kefalonia, and Zakynthos recording increases of 12%, 8%, and 7%, respectively. The impact of the film extended to Sicily, where bookings rose by 8%. Unforgettable Greece reported a 76% increase in bookings compared to last year, launching 22 new themed itineraries.

The Greek National Tourism Organization took advantage of this attention by organizing a press trip to Ithaca. This trend reflects the phenomenon of 'set-jetting', where films influence travel choices, with over 50% of travelers seeking information about destinations discovered through screen productions. Previous examples, such as 'The Da Vinci Code' and 'House of the Dragon', demonstrate the significant impact of films on tourism.
