Noam Shazeer, a leading researcher in the field of artificial intelligence, has announced that he is joining OpenAI after a brief period of nearly two years at Google.

Shazeer, known for his contributions to the development of deep learning technology, was brought back to Google in 2024, after the company paid $2.7 billion to bring him back, considering him a "genius in AI." This departure comes after Google refused to launch an advanced chatbot, Meena, due to safety concerns. Shazeer co-authored the paper "Attention Is All You Need," essential for modern language models.

Despite his departure, Google has managed to regain ground in the AI market with the Gemini chatbot, which has gained popularity. This team change underscores the intense competition in the field of artificial intelligence, where innovation and talent are essential for success.
