Niger has announced the severing of diplomatic relations with Ukraine, accusing Kiev of supporting terrorist groups.

The decision followed official Ukrainian statements that fueled tensions, suggesting Ukraine had provided intelligence to rebels to facilitate an attack on Malian forces. Mali has also taken similar action, strengthening ties with Moscow. Ukraine has denied the accusations and international reactions have condemned any foreign meddling in the region.
