The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation into 1.4 million Honda vehicles due to the risk of failure of their 3.5-liter V6 engines. The investigation covers models such as the Acura TLX, Acura MDX, Honda Pilot, Honda Odyssey and Honda Ridgeline. NHTSA has received 414 complaints related to the malfunctions and is investigating the severity of the problem in light of an earlier incident in which Honda recalled 249,000 vehicles for similar defects.
