The activity of Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey was temporarily suspended after air traffic controllers reported smoke and a burning smell in the control tower. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the evacuation of the tower due to a smell coming from an elevator, emphasizing that no fire occurred. The incident comes shortly after a serious accident at LaGuardia Airport in New York, where a Canadian plane collided with a fire truck, resulting in two deaths and dozens of injuries. Authorities continue to investigate both incidents to ensure the safety of air operations.
