The French Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez, announced that the terrorist threat remains very high, and the intelligence services are on maximum alert. On the occasion of New Year's Eve, 90,000 police officers and gendarmes will be deployed across the country, including 10,000 in Paris.
Security measures are similar to those of last year; however, the concert on the Champs-Élysées has been canceled to avoid overcrowding. Authorities expect crowds to gather in various locations in the capital, such as Trocadero and Champ-de-Mars. The minister called for maximum vigilance and warned that he would not tolerate violence against law enforcement or traffic disruptions, emphasizing that, although no more incidents are expected than last year, the situation remains concerning.
