Netflix has for the first time used artificial intelligence in one of its shows to make movies and shows cheaper and higher quality.

Ted Sarandos, co-chief executive of Netflix, said the Argentinian science fiction series El Eternaut (The Eternaut) is the first to be made using generative AI sequences. The use of AI has enabled the completion of high-impact special effects at a much lower cost than traditional productions. The move comes as the entertainment industry faces fears of layoffs caused by the implementation of AI technologies.
