Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has apologized to Qatar for the attack in Doha.

In a phone conversation from the White House, Netanyahu expressed his regret for the attack in Doha and for the killing of a Qatari security officer. The apologies were an essential condition for resuming mediation with Hamas, with a view to ending the war in Gaza. Netanyahu had meetings with President Trump, who had previously spoken with the Emir of Qatar. The attack on September 9 generated outrage among Arab leaders, but contributed to a regional push for a peace agreement.
