Zelensky mentioned a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed willingness to host the trilateral meeting.

Previously, a third round of negotiations took place in February, which ended without significant progress. Russia rejected Ukraine's requests, including the cession of Donbas, and Zelensky stated that any territorial concession should be validated by a referendum, which he considers to reject the cession of Donbas.
