Drug burning took place in major cities across Myanmar, marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The value of the substances destroyed was nearly 300 million dollars. The event comes shortly after UN experts warned of unprecedented levels of methamphetamine production and trafficking in Southeast Asia's Golden Triangle region.
