At the memorial in Potocari, families of victims and survivors gathered to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre, the worst atrocity in post-war Europe. The ceremony included Islamic prayers, flower-laying by local and international leaders and a procession of coffins carried to the graves. The President of the European Council underlined the commitment to keep alive the memory of the victims, while King Charles of Great Britain recognized the responsibility of the international community in preventing genocide.
