Meules à Giverny (1893) by Claude Monet fetched $34.8 million at a Sotheby's auction. The spring auctions started on an upbeat note, with sales of $235 million for some 50 modern art paintings. Christie's, the rival auction house, was hit by a cyber attack but managed to sell $115 million worth of contemporary art.
