Thousands of people protested in Paris and Bordeaux against the Ripost bill, which tightens regulations on free parties.

Thousands of people took to the streets on Saturday, in Paris and Bordeaux, to support the "free" parties, threatened by the Ripost bill.

The protesters, mostly young people, marched in Paris, behind ten trucks playing techno, trance, and electro music. Slogans like "Our raves are real" were displayed on banners. Participants emphasized that the state has no control over these self-managed events.

In Bordeaux, 2,500 people participated in a similar demonstration, with organizers stating that rave parties are safe and that they are fighting for freedom.

"We are constantly thinking about safety and waste. We have never organized a party that went wrong. It bothers you that it is free. We are fighting for freedom, and this is all the more important in the current context,” added the protest organizer.

The Ripost bill, adopted by the Senate, provides severe penalties for organizers and participants, including imprisonment and fines, and lowers the threshold for registering events from 500 to 250 participants.

The mobilization to defend the culture of free parties has led to several protests in France in recent months.
