On Saturday, tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Madrid to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, following corruption scandals that have affected his government. During the protest, at least seven police officers were injured, and a group of protesters attempted to breach the barriers around the Prime Minister's residence. The police detained a group of masked individuals, and three were arrested.

The protesters, who carried banners with messages such as "Resignation of the socialist mafia," were supported by leaders of the Popular Party and the far-right Vox party. Recent scandals include an investigation into former socialist Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, accused of influence peddling and money laundering. Sanchez has been forced to publicly defend himself, stating that the accusations are politically motivated. Protester organizations estimated that 80,000 people participated, while the government assessed the number at around 40,000.
