Since the election of President Donald Trump, 69 of the roughly 110 lawyers in the Department of Federal Programs have left the unit or announced their intention to leave. According to a list reviewed by Reuters, the departures were due to demoralization and burnout amid legal challenges faced by the Trump administration. Former lawyers and insiders confirmed that defending against numerous lawsuits has been a source of stress for staff.
