Dimitri Peskov, the spokesperson for the Kremlin, stated that Russian authorities have received a significant number of complaints from children following the ban on the Roblox platform. Ekaterina Mizulina, former director of the National Children's Assistance Center, reported receiving over 60,000 letters from children aged between 8 and 16, half of whom expressed a desire to leave the country in reaction to this ban.
Last week, Roskomnadzor, the communications regulatory authority, confirmed the blocking of Roblox, accusing the platform of hosting extremist materials and promoting 'LGBT propaganda'. The authority also highlighted the risks minors are exposed to on the platform, including sexual harassment and manipulation to obtain intimate images.
