The Australian police arrested a 40-year-old man from Melbourne, confiscating 43 stolen collectible Labubu dolls, valued at approximately 9,000 Australian dollars (5,000 euros). The operation took place following a search conducted at a residence in the eastern part of the city, where authorities discovered the dolls, some of which were limited editions.
These dolls were stolen during four separate robberies from a shopping center in Melbourne, starting in July. The man is charged with four counts of burglary and two of theft, having been released on bail and scheduled to appear in court on May 5. The Labubu dolls, created by artist Kasing Lung and produced by Pop Mart, are very popular due to their limited editions and exclusive collaborations, having a high demand in the global market.
