Jonathan Gerlach, 34 years old, has been charged in Pennsylvania for the theft of over 100 human skulls and other remains, discovered by police at his home and in a storage space. The remains, in various stages of preservation, included long bones, hands, mummified feet, and decomposing trunks.

The investigation was triggered by break-ins at the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Yeadon, where Gerlach targeted mausoleums and underground crypts. Authorities also recovered jewelry and a pacemaker attached to the remains. Gerlach was arrested while transporting a bag with mummified remains of two children and has been charged with 300 counts, including theft and desecration of corpses.
