Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called for mobilization this weekend, citing threats from the United States, which is conducting anti-drug operations in the Caribbean. Maduro said Venezuela rejects imperialism and wants peace, announcing a plan to deploy 4.5 million militiamen. There is also talk of possibly sending 4,000 US Marines to the area, amid Washington's failure to recognize the recent elections and accusations that Maduro is involved in illegal drug-related activities.
