The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated that the government will present a bill to enhance the protection of elections, addressing mayors at the Élysée Palace. He emphasized that external interference has affected elections in France and in other European countries, such as Moldova and Germany, referring to Russia's activities that buy fake accounts during the electoral period. Macron promised to fight at the European level for the banning of these accounts, stressing that Europe must become a territory where they are completely prohibited. He also mentioned the intention to regulate speech on social networks, especially regarding electoral advertising, to protect democratic debate.
