French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France is exploring options to unblock the Strait of Hormuz through actions at the UN level, following the EU leaders' meeting in Brussels. Macron stated that he has initiated an exploratory process and will consult key partners, including members of the UN Security Council, to establish an international framework to support this initiative.


The discussions also included Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The UN Secretary-General emphasized the importance of coordinating any initiative through the organization. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the UK is working with allies on a similar plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, considering market stability essential.
