The President of France has been the subject of harsh criticism after the magazine Paris Match published a photograph of him on a jet ski during his vacation in Brégançon, amid the heatwave and devastating wildfires affecting the country. Olivier Faure, the first secretary of the Socialist Party, reacted on platform X, emphasizing that while France is facing a climate crisis, the president is having fun on a jet ski, a message considered inappropriate in this situation.
The photograph, taken from the side, captures Macron wearing sunglasses, under the title "Last Summer at the Helm." Criticism is not new for Macron, who has previously been accused of a lack of empathy during his past vacations. Inside the magazine, it is mentioned that his vacation also includes sports activities, but Faure did not comment on another cover photo, which shows Raphaël Glucksmann kissing his partner. Faure may run for the presidential elections, which could lead to a confrontation with Macron.
