Emmanuel Macron announced at the Luxeuil air base that the French military will increase orders for Rafale jets as part of a defense strategy adapted to geopolitical changes. France will receive 56 additional jets and the defense ministry has proposed the purchase of 30 more. Macron stressed the importance of nuclear deterrence and cited an investment of nearly €1.5 billion to modernize the air base. He stressed the need to prepare for possible threats as he meets German leaders to discuss European defense.
