At a EU meeting, the head of Luxembourg's diplomacy, Xavier Bettel, confirmed that Luxembourg will join the countries that recognize the state of Palestine. Prime Minister Luc Frieden emphasized the importance of a two-state solution for lasting peace, stating that this effort shows that this solution remains relevant. This initiative comes in the context of international pressure on Israel to end the conflict in Gaza, being supported by a majority in the UN General Assembly.
