In an interview, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, stated that Ukraine should have avoided "waking the sleeping bear," referring to Russia, and should seek normal relations with Moscow. Lukashenko emphasized that if Ukraine wanted to implement a language policy, it should do so gradually, without provoking tensions. He also mentioned that Russia had offered Ukraine energy resources at reduced prices and that previous agreements between the two countries did not require external intervention, such as Maidan-style protests.

Lukashenko called for Donald Trump's involvement in mediating the conflict, emphasizing that a firm action from him could yield results. He warned that if the war does not stop, it could have serious consequences for Europe and the entire world, turning into a global conflict. Currently, Russia controls about 19% of Ukraine's territory, and Lukashenko believes it is essential to reach a peace agreement to prevent the situation from escalating.
