The Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, the longest-serving dictator in Europe, stated in an interview that Nicolas Maduro, the President of Venezuela, is welcome in Belarus, provided he steps down from office, although he has not had direct discussions with him. Lukashenko, an ally of Vladimir Putin, emphasized the long-standing relationship between Belarus and Venezuela, adding that Maduro is not an enemy.

In the context of tensions between the US and Venezuela, with threats of military intervention from the Americans, Lukashenko warned that a conflict would be similar to Vietnam and would unite Venezuelan citizens in support of Maduro. He challenged Trump's claims about a drug influx from Venezuela, asserting that he does not believe in these statements and that Maduro is not involved in drug trafficking. Lukashenko called for finding a compromise between the US and Venezuela to avoid escalating the conflict.
