Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin will meet on the island of Valaam in Karelia, Russia, to discuss the development of Belarus-Russia relations and the implementation of Belarus-Russia Union projects. This is the fourth joint visit of the two leaders to the island, where they combined formal talks with informal meetings. Valaam Monastery, an important spiritual site, attracts over 100 000 visitors annually.
