A new community protection unit in London will include 100 officers to respond to antisemitic threats.

The Metropolitan Police in London has announced the creation of a new Community Protection Team, made up of approximately 100 officers, to respond to the increasing threats against Jewish communities.

This initiative comes in the context of the allocation of £25 million by the government to strengthen the safety of the Jewish community, of which £18 million has been allocated to the Metropolitan Police. The Chief of Police, Mark Rowley, emphasized the importance of this team in enhancing the response to antisemitic incidents, mentioning that the unit could reach 300 officers depending on needs.

Recently, the Jewish community has been affected by arson attacks, and a recent incident, in which two people were injured, is being treated as a terrorist attack.

This measure reflects the commitment of the authorities to ensure the safety of all communities in London.
