Lithuania has issued a warning regarding Russia's ability to manipulate GPS signals over a range of up to 450 km from the Kaliningrad exclave, thus affecting a large part of Northern and Eastern Europe. Darius Kuliesius, a Lithuanian official, stated that Russia has significantly expanded its jamming infrastructure, now having 36 'spoofing' antennas, compared to just 3 in 2025. These antennas, located in Kaliningrad, allow Moscow to broadcast false signals, confusing geolocation systems. Interferences have become systemic, especially during the NATO summit in 2023. Maps from the Lithuanian authorities show that GPS signals can be affected in Estonia, Latvia, Poland, and certain areas of Finland and Sweden. Additionally, incidents involving Ukrainian drones that have entered the airspace of the Baltic states have generated political crises, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has accused Russia of attempting to destabilize democratic societies in the region.
