The authorities in Lithuania have entered a state of maximum alert after a massive data leak that affected over 600,000 records from national registers, including real estate and legal entities. The Prosecutor General of Lithuania announced that access to this data was achieved using the authentication data of authorized institutions. Following the incident, the head of the State Enterprise Register Center, Adrijus Jusas, resigned. Authorities have implemented additional security measures, including blocking suspicious accounts. Opposition politician Laurynas Kasčiūnas suggested that the theft could be the work of Russian intelligence services, although he did not provide evidence. Lithuania, a frequent target of Russian hybrid attacks, faces a series of threats, including the emergence of drones on its territory. Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas emphasized the need to adapt to this new reality. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will visit Vilnius to discuss coordinating the response to these challenges.
