Cheeses contaminated with Listeria have been recalled in five European countries, the US and Japan after two people died in France.

European authorities have detected Listeria-contaminated cheeses in at least five countries, including France, where two people have died and others have needed medical attention. ECDC has reported cases in France, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Netherlands and Norway, affecting people aged between 34 and 95. The suspect products have been recalled and the cheeses have been distributed in several countries, including the US and Japan.
