The landslide occurred on August 31, after torrential rains, completely destroying a village in the Darfur region. The Sudan Liberation Army has requested international assistance to recover the bodies of the victims. Residents, fleeing the conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF paramilitary forces, were seeking shelter in this area, already affected by the food crisis and lack of medicine. The civil war has forced millions of people to leave their homes.
