Kiev Mayor Vitali Kliciko has urged German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to act on previous statements on the delivery of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine amid Russian attacks on civilian targets. Kliciko strongly criticized the terror unleashed by Vladimir Putin, pointing to the destruction of 2,000 buildings in Kiev and stressing that without international support Ukraine could become a target for other states. Although Merz's predecessor refused deliveries because of escalation risks, Merz made ambiguous statements suggesting aid for Ukrainian missile production.
