The supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, warned that an attack by the United States could provoke a regional conflict, in the context of rising tensions between Washington and Tehran. Khamenei stated that the Iranian nation will not be intimidated by the threats of President Donald Trump, who has bolstered the U.S. naval presence in the Middle East.

Although Iran does not intend to attack other countries, Khamenei emphasized that it will respond strongly to any aggression. Despite the tensions, Tehran has declared that it is open to diplomatic negotiations, provided that these do not limit its defensive capabilities.

The protests in Iran, which began due to economic difficulties, have been suppressed, and the number of deaths has been estimated by various sources to be between 3,117 and 6,713. Khamenei compared the protests to a "coup d'état," stating that their purpose was to destabilize the government.
