A Kenyan court has charged cult leader Paul Mackenzie and 94 alleged accomplices with manslaughter for the deaths of more than 200 people.

Mackenzie and the other defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges. The case comes after the group was charged with terrorism. The cult leader is accused of encouraging members of his church to move to the coastal forest and starve themselves to 'meet Jesus'. The tragedy prompted the Kenyan government to recognize the need for tighter control of fringe cults.
