Kenya considers it unacceptable for its citizens to be lured with promises of jobs in Russia and used as soldiers in Ukraine.

Kenya has firmly condemned the illegal recruitment of its citizens by the Russian army, which lures them with promises of well-paid jobs. Abraham Korir Sing'Oei, the second in command of Kenyan diplomacy, emphasized that men without military experience are forced to sign contracts with the Russian army and sent to the front in Ukraine, where many have been killed.

In an investigation, four Kenyans reported how they were lured to Russia with promises of salaries between 920 and 2,400 euros per month, but ended up being used as "cannon fodder" in the conflict in Ukraine. Sing'Oei described this situation as "painful, disturbing, and shocking," emphasizing that Kenya has raised the issue with Russia both in Nairobi and in Moscow.
