Kaja Kallas, head of the EU diplomacy, has raised an alarm regarding the pressures exerted on Ukraine to cede territories to Russia, emphasizing that this idea is dangerous and risks obscuring Russia's responsibility for aggression.
Kallas mentioned that, in the last 100 years, Russia has attacked 19 countries without ever being attacked, demanding that Europe insist on concessions from Russia, including limiting military forces and holding it accountable for the crimes committed. She also highlighted the importance of EU involvement in any future peace agreement, considering that President Zelensky acknowledges Europe's role in security guarantees for Ukraine. Recent negotiations between the US and Russia have been described as constructive, but Kallas insisted that the EU must have an active role in the peace process.
