This remark was made in the context of international tensions, including Donald Trump's threats regarding the possible annexation of Greenland, protests in Iran, and conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza.

Kallas emphasized that geopolitics has become a pressing issue for the EU, mentioning that it is ready to propose new sanctions against Iran, where over 2,400 deaths among protesters have been reported.
