John Robert Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health in the USA, accused the German government of initiating politically motivated lawsuits against doctors and patients in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. In a video posted on platform X, he stated that he sent a letter to his counterpart, Nina Warken, requesting the cessation of these lawsuits. Kennedy claimed that Germany has prosecuted over 1,000 doctors who issued exemptions from wearing masks or vaccination, denouncing a violation of the doctor-patient relationship. The German minister's response was firm, dismissing the accusations as unfounded and emphasizing that doctors who opposed vaccination were not penalized.

Relations between the USA and Germany have been tense recently, partly due to the positions of the Trump administration, which supported far-right parties in Germany. Former German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach criticized Kennedy's statements, suggesting that he should focus on health issues in the USA.
