Former American president Joe Biden, at the age of 82, recently completed a series of radiation therapy sessions for the treatment of an aggressive form of prostate cancer, a condition he made public in May. His assistant and spokesperson, Kelly Scully, announced that Biden has " rung the bell" at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, a tradition that marks the end of treatment. His daughter, Ashley Biden, shared the news on Instagram, thanking the medical team for their care. Biden also underwent hormone treatment, as the cancer had spread to his bones, and in the past, he underwent surgery to remove cancerous lesions from his skin. The former president decided not to run for a second term in 2024, citing his age and health condition. Joe Biden is not the only American president who has fought against cancer; others, such as Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter, have also had similar experiences.
