The Israeli army has contacted officials in the northern Gaza Strip to encourage them to evacuate the area ahead of an expanded operation after calling up 60,000 reservists. Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to approve the operation at a cabinet meeting, amid recent attacks that left 36 Palestinians dead. Although Israel has eliminated Hamas leaders, the group is regrouping and continuing attacks. Operations are taking place in Zeitoun and Jabaliya neighborhoods as the international community condemns restrictions on access to food and medicine in Gaza.
