Leiter was asked whether the Israeli government has made efforts to exclude France from these negotiations, responding that it is not necessary, as France does not have a positive influence, especially in Lebanon. Although France has joined 17 other countries in encouraging Lebanon and Israel to take advantage of these discussions mediated by the United States, Paris has insisted on including the Lebanese front in the ceasefire with Iran, which has displeased Israel. Relations between French President Emmanuel Macron and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are tense, especially after France's recognition of the Palestinian state.
